About Anne Rodich
With a degree from the University of Notre Dame in Economics and Computer Applications, Anne began her career by developing an information technology foundation through two years of employment at Arthur Andersen & Company in the Management Information Consulting division of the Portland, Oregon office. Employment with Honeywell for two years strengthened her IT knowledge base, and began cultivating her manufacturing industry expertise. During an eight and a half year tenure with Pillsbury/Grand Metropolitan, Anne shifted her focus from the technical to the business elements of information management. Through her assignment in supporting many departmental applications, Anne honed her manufacturing industry knowledge as well. As a liaison between the IT division and the Green Giant division, Anne refined her skills in translating business needs into the appropriate application of technology. Participation in a full-scale process re-engineering project advanced Anne’s proficiency and ignited her passion for business process improvement.

Perceiving significant opportunity for process improvement in the health care industry, Anne then intentionally moved her industry focus from manufacturing to health care. Anne left Pillsbury, accepting the position of Business Process Improvement Director for the Network Management division of BlueCross BlueShield of Minnesota.

In June of 1995, Anne left BlueCross to pursue her goal of establishing an independent consulting practice. Using her passion for process improvement, and her growing knowledge of health care, Anne has provided services to Allina, BlueCross BlueShield of Minnesota, and UCare in the past nine years.

During her four years of consulting for Allina, Anne:

  • established departmental charters and a core business process model for the Information Services Division;
  • facilitated the development of the Quality Champions Team for the Information Services Division;
  • documented clinical and demographic data as well as business processes for all aspects of Allina’s Cardiovascular Services Division;
  • facilitated the analysis, re-design and implementation of the business processes required to capture provider demographic data for the Provider Services department within Medica Health Plans
  • automated these re-designed processes combining electronic forms and workflow management technology
  • created and provided training to more than 100 members of the department utilizing the newly development system.

Subsequently, Anne was engaged by BlueCross for a variety of projects. During her four+ years of consulting for Blue Cross, Anne:

  • documented and ratified business processes as part of an initiative to re-engineer the sales-to-billing workflow across numerous divisions;
  • facilitated annual planning and prioritization for divisional VP’s of Network Management;
  • created a visual integrated model depicting the major business, data, and system components of Network Management to guide the integration of numerous, concurrent strategic projects;
  • established and facilitated an executive, cross-divisional business integration steering committee governing all provider-related projects;
  • documented and ratified business processes as part of an initiative to re-design the provider contracting and payment workflow;
  • served as Business Project Manager for the Project Definition, and the Design phases of a project launched to automate the financial modeling and management of provider contracts. As part of her role, Anne served as the liaison between the client and a software vendor engaged to build a customized solution to meet the specific needs of BlueCross. Additionally, Anne played a key role in the business design of the software, serving as an advocate for Blue Cross specific needs.

Most recently, Anne has been engaged by UCare to assist the organization in evaluating whether to build internally, or to buy software to manage the financial modeling of its provider contracts. Anne has facilitated several meetings with a cross-functional team, and is working with the team to develop potential project plans, and associated cost/benefit analysis for each approach.
